hey friends, please help me. I am being forced to use linux but somehow i cannot find nice options to use ( open, highlight, edit) pdf files... which is best option ?

STOP! STOP! using Ubuntu, There are better superior distribution available



check these out they put Ubuntu in the dark ages, these work out of the box

well buddy, i can understand your state because i had been in similar situation because there are very less options under linux. After doing research for few days, i have started using pdf studio software.

Its acrobat like, meaning you can open, highlight, edit the text. and also add stamp\pen\tools like rectangle ... very comprehensive in features. plus there is ocr tool.

I like this software, its worth its cost, fast, reliable, less crushes, and frequent updates.



just give it a try.

p.s.

i had been using pdf-xchange viewer until recently under wine but not now because wine software are slower and crash easily than linux software, just my 1 $ advice...

Install Adobe Reader from the Terminal.



Go to Terminal, type "sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade; sudo apt-get install acroread acroread-fonts". Type your password, and press Enter. Type "y" and press Enter.
