I want to have an VM running Ubuntu inside my Ubuntu OS!!, i want to play around and experiment with it so i would rather not use my main installation till i actually know what im doing.

Im aware of this VWware but this server version im seeing all the time is confusing me, i dont need remote access stuff, ill be sitting at my PC. so which VMware program do i get, is there a bog-standard version that acts just like VirtualPc?

Thanks

vmware-server is free but its garbage, it has a web panel made in ajax, it crashes if you click something to fast, and it crashes when you click ANYTHING!

You want Virtual Box. Its already in the software center- just open software center and type virtualbox- then select install. Once its installed go to a site like source forge and look for instructions.

Ubuntu has virtualbox in the repository. You can download and install it with synaptic. THis link will explain how to get it working.

You can get for free VirtualBox here http://bit.ly/WhuPTb

It is the best solution if you need to run different operative system on your computer.
