which software do i need to scan my hard drive that will remove random unassociated files left over from programs ive deleted. I need something simple to use that will remove all the crap which seems to get left behind on your hard drive when you delete something. I'm not talking temporary Internet files i have one to do that. I used one a while ago and forgot what it was called.
cheers

If you know where the file is and you're on a PC, right click and press Ctrl+Shift to permanently delete it, this way it doesn't go to the Recycle Bin.

revo uninstaller does not clean, but it uninstalls the program, then searches everything that it leaves behind.
