Microsoft Office Professional 2013 automatically closes upon opening?

I was working on PowerPoint and decided to open it again later in the day. When I opened it, it said that Powerpoint crashed and saved the presentation.

After that every time i try to open PowerPoint it automatically closes. This happens with Microsoft word as well. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it and also tried opening it on safe mode but all with the same result of automatically closing.

I've read that some add on (bluetooth?) may be the problem but I can disable that if I can't even get into the program.

Is there any other suggestion of what to do?

When Word closes immediately on opening, I suspect a corrupted template for new documents. In Word 2013 this is normal.dotm.To locate this document, type this at the Start button:

%appdata%\Microsoft\Templates\



Navigate to this template and right-click on it and select delete. If this is your problem, uninstalling and reinstalling will not work. When uninstalling, Word leaves a lot of files behind including normal. When reinstalling, Word sees this file and does not over write it with a clean copy.



Since this also affects PowerPoint, go to the Control Panel as if you are going to uninstall MS Office. After you select the program to uninstall, you will see the option to Repair or Change the installation. Do this and it will solve your problems.

** screen you see IS POWERPOINT or it may be MALWARE that has changed your system

** by finding the ACTUAL EXE for WORD or POWERPOINT you can eliminate Malware damage

can you navigate down Program_files to find Winword.exe and open it directly?



use explorer to navigate to a folder

right click inside the folder and choose Create New Word Document

once it is created, double click it to open it.

when uninstalling office, ALL office applications need to be uninstalled otherwise all the

registry settings stay as they were previously.

also, deleting the contents of ALL folders named TEMP after uninstalling ensures that any

traces of dross from a previous install, does not affect a new install.

There might others reasons that make the program crash.

1) Might be your system is effected by Viruses try a full system scan and then run the program and see whether the problem is solved or not.

2) If it is not solved by the above solution then then a fresh copy of your windows re-install the software.

Have you tried system restore to an earlier time when this did not happen? Might work.
