So I got this computer from work, it's a HP Pavilion A820n, they were going to toss and I took it off their hands. There's a set password on it and I can't ask the previous owner of the computer because they well they were fired or quit. Which ever it is I need to reset this password, oh it also won't let me log on using Safe Mode freezes at Drivers.Mup, soooo anyone know how to do this?
Thanks,

There are a lot of tools and utilities that can be downloaded and used to recover, reset, retrieve or reveal windows password. However, I've tried a couple of these utilities through the years and my favorite is the windows password key 8.0. This utility is used to reset password of any windows versions.

1. Login to a computer that can link to Internet. Download windows Password key from http://www.lostwindowspassword.com

and install it on that PC. Note that: there is a .ISO file. Burn the .ISO file to a CD or a USB flash drive.

2. Insert the newly created CD/USB drive to the locked computer.

3. Reboot the locked computer and press'F2'or'Delete'to enter your BIOS setup and then followed the process of instructions. Just a few steps, the old password was removed.

Windows Password Unlocker can recover Windows admin password for Windows 7/XP/Vista/NT/2000/2003/2008....

1.Download Windows Password Unlocker from Password Unlocker Official site

2.Decompress the Windows password unlocker and note that there is an .ISO image file. Burn the image file onto an blank CD with the burner freely supported by Password Unlocker.

3.Insert the newly created CD into the locked computer and re-boot it from the CD drive.

4.After launched the CD, a window pop up with all your account names(if you have several accounts) select one of the accounts that you have forgotten its password to reset it. Just one press, you have removed the password.

You can use a Linux boot OS on a USB drive to log into your PC (it bypasses windows logon). The alternative is to use a utility that lets you reset Windows password.

My company's IT systems administrator uses a software called Password Resetter. It's a quick utility that recovers both admin & user accounts and is compatible with all Windows versions.

Creating a Windows 2000 password recovery disk can really come in handy if you lost your login password. With it, you can easily reset your password and get right in to Windows Vista.

While there are ways to recover lost passwords without a password reset disk, they are often complicated and time consuming.Be proactive by creating a password reset disk today. With a password reset disk, forgetting your password is no longer a crisis.

Follow the easy steps below to create a password reset disk for your Windows 2000 account:

At one time I forgot my windows vista password and I created a password reset disk by software windows login recovery. With the disk I successfully reset my forgotten password. The software also supports windows 2000. Just to try.
