Is it impossible to convert an AVI video file to 3GP?

I wanted to convert a Laura Pausini video from AVI to 3GP and I've used two softwares so far, Total Video Converter and Xilisoft. Neither of them couldn't do them properly and after its conversion, when I tried to play it with VLC media player, it says it is unable to play a certain format(which is not even 3GP but I don't remember the name). If I press, "Okay", the clarity is terrible and there is no audio. Is there any better video converter which converts properly and is available in most tech stores?

D'oohh of course it's not impossible to convert avi to 3gp, u just need to find yourself a good converter for the job.



Not that familiar with those two apps u say u used; I just use Tunebite to convert avi to 3gp for my nokia cell. The quality's great and never had such problems with the conversion.
