Whenever I tab it just tabs over, or hit enter it just makes a new line, it doesn't matter what format I choose, I can't make a sub topic with a bullet point system.

Any help would be great. :)

What you need to is increase the indent level of your bullet element, for this:

• select the bullet element

• Choose the home tab

• In the paragraph group, look for the indent right button (the 5th icon to the right, it looks like a arrow follow by a bold paragraph, to decrease the level use the previous icon)

You could also do it by selecting the bullet element and pressing this combination of key at the same time CTRL+M, this will increase the indent level. To decrease it press CTRL+SHIFT+M

This is an tutorial with visual help to indent a paragraph but are the same steps to indent a bullet element http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/indenting-a-whole-paragraph-in-word-2007.navId-323089.html

Try this:

1. Click the round Office button in the upper-left corner of the window.

2. Click the Word Options button.

3. Click Proofing.

4. Click the AutoCorrect Options button.

5. Click the AutoFormat As you Type tab.

6. Check the “Set left- and first-indent with tabs and backspaces” checkbox.

7. Click OK.

Hope that helps.
