I have a folder in my pc, the contents of which change very regularly. I want a way of backing up this folder on a regular basis to an external hard drive. Changes are only made to the file stored on the pc, I don't want any changes made on the external drive to be copied onto my pc drive.
Can anyone suggest an efficient way to do this. I use windows 7.
Thanks

Any backup program that allows you to create a schedule and destination will do the job for you. Windows Backup (very basic) has a scheduler that prompts you for backup media on a schedule so that you can backup. I use that and another backup program that will actually proceed on schedule to backup to my external hard drive the folders that I have chosen.
You might want to look into a "continuous backup" that writes continuously to your external drive.
Here is a good article on the subject that has some software recommendations along with it.
I use an external drive for back up, I have used more than one forder though I define is to several folders, I just do a click and drag to foldrers necessary, same for my laptop on the same drive, only a one way transfer, I also back up keys and registrations for software I purchased on line. I use windows 7 home premium. Simplest is the easiest with security

I recommend you a free backup software, which is AOMEI Backupper. You can create a schedule backup to backup your files regularly, and you just need plug the external hard drive into your PC when the schedule occurs. Hope this can help you.
