Kubuntu vs Ubuntu, KDE vs Gnome?

I just got rid of Ubuntu 10.10 and got Kubuntu 10.10, and I must say, I'm more into it that I was with Ubuntu... My analogy, GNOME's GUI is similar to Mac, which may be the reason I don't like it as much, now I'm not saying that I'm comparing Gnome's functionalities to Mac's, but it looks like it. Now, KDE's GUI is similar to Windows 7, which is my current OS, and which I use every day for my every day activities, I rarely touched Ubuntu until I got Kubuntu. It has a lot of similarities between the two... Which might be the reason why I love it so much. I'm using Kubuntu right now, though, and I love it. I might be getting more into Linux. Also, I much prefer Terminal to Command Prompt any day. ^^
Three answers:
Linux Mint 11

This is a question that the jury is very divided on. Kubuntu in my opinion is not a particularly good distro. and has often fallen short by quite a long way of Ubuntu itself. My preference is Linux Mint 10 KDE. However it is not so long ago the KDE 4 Desktop Environment was horrendously unstable. I remember the hype surrounding the release of KDE 4 on OpenSUSE 11. It was without doubt most disappointing. OpenSUSE 11 had more than its share of bugs and coupled with the newly released KDE 4 rendered it pratically unsuable. To prevent the onslaught of OpenSUSE users I will add things have improved somewhat.

Another KDE based distro. worth considering is Pardus Linux

If indeed Microsoft have copied KDE then they did it well. Even myself an avid Linux user will give credit where it is due

Moving on to GNOME I thoroughly recommend Linux Mint 9 LTS and Linux Mint 10 Main Edition which are built upon Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Long Term Support) and Ubuntu 10.10

Also worth considering is Fusion Linux 14 which is a Fedora based distro.

windows 7 is like kde i believe you meant,

kde was out before win7 - waaaay before

i've been using kde since 2007, although not with kubuntu, i use mandriva linux,

a totally different ballgame,

gnome, to me, is too cartoonish - kde looks more professional especially when you change your menu to kickoff instead of classic

(try it, right click on your menu button and change to kickoff)

Hey guys, head to Oberto's Kitchen and eat some chicken. "Yum!" I can just smell it. I love chicken, that's why I'm 300 pounds above average. I eat 2 whole chickens a day for breakfast, 10 hamburgers for lunch, and "Yum!", 100 chicken nuggets for dinner! Then, for a midnight snack, honey smoked chicken breast all from Oberto's!
