Ok, I run Mozilla Firefox on a Windows computer (not vista) and it's had it's issues but for the most part Mozilla has been reliable, until i turned it on today.

I had over 300 bookmarks stored on Mozilla and when i turned it on today it had deleted them all, but there are other issues...

Not only that but it's also deleted my history and my short cuts, my URL bar doesn't show the URL for the page i'm on just the one I last type in, by back button don't light up and pressing backspace doesn't work to navigate back through pages... And pages keep automatically refreshing and the little circle thing doesn't stop going around...

Suggestions on how to fix it and best case scenario get my bookmarks back?

You may find you have 2 Firefox running , go into task manager and have a look if you have shut them down and start again that may fix your problem

it's not that your windows profile is corrupted, or you are logged in as a different user in that computer right?

if you open mozilla's "organize bookmark", there should be a menu you can use to backup your bookmarks, or restore from backup. mozilla makes daily backups of the last five days of bookmarks.

in my pc, its located here:

C:\ Documents and Settings \ user \ Application Data \ Mozilla \ Firefox \ Profiles \ 8armt7cs.default \ bookmarkbackups

it might be slightly different with your pc, but it should not be too different.
