So to answer your question, because of the way many bittorrent clients are written, you do not remain anonymous.
If you have everything set correctly (there are many things in your computer that compromises your anonymity) just downloading the torrent file with the Tor browser will not compromise your anonymity. But what good does the torrent file do if you can not remain anonymous when you download the file with a bittorrent client?

I wouldn't worry too much. By law, you can download (mp3, movies, etc) all you want, as long as you don't share/sell the products you just got. I am saying this after having spoken to the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) a few months ago, and that's exactly what they told me.
But if you really have to, you can always use a proxy or a VPN.
HotSpot Shield gives a good service for just $30/year. I wouldn't use Tor simply because it's a bit slower.
