Why do I always have poor converted videos on Adobe Media Encoder or Adobe After Effects?

I encoded a video, Speed Racer Trailer from Apple Trailer, but unfortunately I always end up a poor converted video. I have settings here:

It appears your target bitrate is very low (Target: .9 Mbps).



Increasing this should increase the quality (and file size accordingly).



Other than that you want the resolution (frame width and height), as well as Frame Rate to be identical to the original clip (as long as it's only for playing from your computer). And no interlacing (progressive is the way to go unless it's for old TV-standards/DVD).

If you give some information about what you intend to use the video for (e.g. burn as a DVD, burn as Blu-ray, play on computer, show on a webpage, upload to youtube, view on an ipod) then we can be bore specific with other suggestions as well.

DVDvideosoft is a whole suite of converters and what not and its all free. The format is really simple and you don't have to be a video know it all to use it. You can chose between normal user and advanced user according to how well you know all the different video formats. The basic user is fine and will convert almost anything to another something

I would set your bitrate much higher. To put it in perspective, YouTube uses around 260kbps and their videos look terrible. I would make your min at least 260, if not a good amount higher.
