Yes. Windows 7 is VERY GOOD. I have had it on an Inspiron 1525, and now it's on my MacBook. It is very fast. It has many more features than Windows XP has. Windows XP might as well be Windows 95 compared to windows 7. Definitely keep your windows 7. You won't regret it. It just takes some getting used to.

I upgraded from XP Pro 32 bit to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit last week. Unlike Vista with it's constant "Allow or Deny" messages I find 7 is stable, runs smoothly the changes from XP are intuitive so there seems less a learning curve then vista.

In my case the reason for the upgrade was the purchase of some new hard drives that can be made to work under XP, but with lower data transfer rates. Unlike XP-64 or Vista-64 Windows 7 actually had the drivers for all my hardware though not all of it was full featured (the support software for my web cam doesn't work, I can't zoom, pan or adjust the pic though the cam itself works as "plain vanilla.")

Hope this helps.

You may as well keep Windows 7 on it. It is quite a good operating system - much better than Vista. Since in a few years, XP will become obsolete, at least you will still be able to use some programs with 7. Plus, 7 is also optimised for laptops.

Microsoft makes Vista and homestead windows 7, so which you particularly in basic terms have 2 options. And, merely approximately all call-type laptops contain a loose improve to (the two are continually actual) W7 besides. the main needed determination is Vista homestead elementary (organic junk) or Vista homestead top type (good) OR homestead windows 7 homestead top type (extra clever). Then, 32 Bit or sixty 4 Bit. BTW, W7 Starter is junk, too. So, end nerve-racking with regard to the homestead windows version, and concentration on determining on a pc that meets your particular computing desires. GAMING laptops value far extra (2 to thrice) than get right of entry to-point ones for a reason. it particularly is all with regard to the snap shots!

Haven't had a problem with it yet. Give it a try, it is far better than Vista ever was. If you don't like it, you can always revert to XP provided you can get the proper drivers for that system.

i personally did when i bought my pc, but it was vista, and i had teh option to free upgrade to 7 or downgrade to xp..i chose xp just because its what im used to.

7 is way better than vista, but as to whether or not it is better than xp, it all depends on what you need to do with it. 7 has a ton of features xp doesnt, but xp is very stable and easy to use, simple
