You can`t uninstall internet explorer, if you uninstall the current version it reverts to the previous version.

You need to turn off auto updating.

Opt to view updates before installing, and refuse the IE updates.

As others have said, you cannot uninstall Internet Explorer itself, you really just disable it.

You prevent the program from running, but it's components are still on your hard drive, partly because IE is not the only program that uses some of those components. Remove all the parts that IE uses and you'll stop other programs that rely on those files working!

When you receive updates for IE when it isn't actually 'installed' doesn't mean you don't need the updates. You could also be patching another program aswell.

Windows is a bit inter-linked like that, but the updates are for your own security in the end.

A necessary evil.

the first question is why did you delete the programme? was it someone selling you the idea of firefox or that this or some other browser is better? well here are the facts:

a browser is a universal programme that allows any and all computers to share a common system to communicate with each other.

the updates would be if there is a residual stock of the programme or if the automatic updates are enabled.

and no i know its hard to understand that mr gates does not own the planet earth.

Its all part of Gates world domination project. Just turn off auto updates, that will stop it.
