Question:
In Excel, is there any way to automatically update charts with the latest info on the table?

For example, instead of selecting data and adding the newest line item (by dragging down the selection), is there some kind of macro that can do this for a bunch of charts, say the latest date is Oct. 6th, but I only have up to Oct. 5th on the chart, how do I get the charts to include the info for the 6th automatically? I tried a macro that dragged each chart one line down but it only worked that day and the next day it didn't : (

You want to format the data being used for the chart as a table. This will ensure that the table will increase in size automatically when you insert a new row. And the chart will update also.

To format the data as a table;

1 Select the range of cells

2 Click the Format as Table button on the Home tab

3. Select the format you wish to use

If you know the dates in advance, fill in the date column and then create the chart including the dates without data. The chart will be created with the dates on the X Axis and as you fill in data the data series on the chart will be filled in.

make confident the headers on your excel record is comparable because of the fact the sector names on your get right of entry to table. I get right of entry to, create a clean link table, link it to the excel record. Create a append question (to extract each and every of the concepts interior the excel table and append the ends up in get right of entry to tables). As familiar, make a backup first.
