I was trying to take a picture on my screen and paste somewhere, but since it wasn't an image I pushed print scrn sysRq on my keyboard and then went to my desktop. I wanted to paste it there, but the paste option wasn't there, only a paste shortcut option. I pushed that and a message popped up and it said something about an active desktop and then I had to save a file somewhere and then it asked am I sure that I want to proceed or something like that. I said yes and then all my icons stopped having a transparent background, but instead, a blue background. Also, now, when I move windows on my desktop, there is a ghost behind them (It looks like they duplicate as I move the window).

What can I do to make my icons transparent again and fix the trailing windows problem?

BTW, I have WIndows XP.

First, you can not simply right click and paste on your desktop when using print screen. You must paste in an open document or paint. Right click on the shortcut you created on the desktop and choose delete. Next, right click in a free space on your desktop and choose properties. Click on the Appearance tab then the effects button. Using the pic on the link below as a guide, customize your desktop.*
