I want to to use outlook express instead of outlook 2000. I am successfully using outlook express except.
1 we are also using Act and I want to use outlook express as the email tool but it just keeps sending from outlook 2000 NOT not outlook express.
2. If you open a document eg a word document then try to email directly from the document it once again emails as if from outlook 2000.
As far asI am aware I have "set program access" in the control panel to use outlook express but it does not seem to have made a difference.
My next step would be to uninstall outlook 2000 but it seems too wrapped up in office 2000 to be successful.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO PLEASE!!!!!

i dont know what exactly your MS outl 200 setting. maybe u u set send message immediately when startup.

to make sure u always stay away from MS outlook is u have to remove your account in microsoft outlook 2000. just leave it as default.next time u dont have to worry again.

That's a tough one because you have the full office suite and everything in it will want to use Outlook as the default mail client. When you open Outlook express does it say "this is not your default email & would you like to make it so" if it does click yes. If it doesn't say this then open OE and click on tools then options and at the bottom of the "general tab" you will find a button to click that should say something like this. " This is not the default mail handler" "make default"

Now if that doesn't work download Incredimail and that WILL take over from "Outlook" and is more fun anyway.

Try this go to control panel>internet options, click on the programs tab and under email select outlook express.

then start outlook and in account options remove any email account.this should fix it as outlook express will be the only email client with an active account to check for messages.
