My grandma has recently got a new laptop and on Christmas Day I went on it, and signed onto MSN windows messenger. Now when I turn on the laptop, it signs me in automatically. But on the sign in box, the little check box that says 'Sign me in automatically' isn't ticked. How do I uninstall windows messenger??

Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs, a new window will pop-up with a list of programs, just look for the name of the one you are looking for and any other you would like to remove from the computer and click uninstall.

Good Luck

Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs

The Add or Remove Programs window opens.

On the left pane of the, click Add/Remove Windows Components

Another window named Windows Components Wizards opens.

Move down the list in and you will find last Windows Messenger.

Uncheck it, click Next and then Finish.

There's no such program as "MSN windows messenger". It's Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger. And, if it's Windows Vista, then it could also be Windows Live Messenger.

Do NOT uninstall it!!!

In *** Messenger (pick a name above), log out under the File Tab, and log back in as your grandma, and click the 'Sign me in automatically' for her.

Problem solved.

since you got it so recently it's probably a Vista, in which case all you have to do is click "start", then "control panel", then under "programs" click "uninstall a program", and you should see it at the bottom (it's in alphabetical order)
