Hi yahooers I decided to give this topic to you guys because the minecraft forums never mark your questions. So how do you get a server opened to people outside of your home? Thanks and reply to detail I'm new at this computer stuff. Give it in a "First-grade" language. Not that I'm in first grade, but treat me like I"m in first grade to the computer.

1)Download the Minecraft server software

2)Make a folder on your desktop

3)Place the server software in the New folder you made

4)Run the software (It'll give error messages, this is normal.)

5)Find the thing in the folder called server and open it

6)Go to http://www.whatsmyip.com

7)It'll give u a bunch of numbers with dots in between them.

8)Copy the numbers

9)Go back to the server folder and It will say Server Port:

10)The default server port is 25565, delete those numbers and paste the new ones.

11)Close the server software.

12)Open the software.

YOU HAVE A RUNNING SERVER!

Note:Your server IP will be those numbers you copied.

Well first off you need to have a decent computer, For a minecraft server to fun properly you need 1024mb allocated to it. That isn't including yourself.

Then look up port forwarding on google. (This will allow people to connect to your server)

Or just check out this video:

(Not my fault if it isn't up to date)

the interest server makes use of a particular port. for that reason, to run 2 servers, one would desire to apply a distinctive port to hook up with, and that port should be port forwarded besides, to the 2nd interest server (would desire to be an identical computer??) verify the interest docs for recommendations to alter the port the interest makes use of. anybody outdoors, on the cyber web, would would desire to connect by potential of specifying that custom port besides...
