I need to know.....
(1) have you got Compiz fusion icon on the task bar?
(2) have you downloaded the intel proprietary drivers
Ubuntu does NOT work out of the Box, it needs setting up so that the 3D desktop works. There are sreveral Commercial Linux distributions
(1) Ubuntu
(2) Open Suse
(3) Fedora
(4) Google
Ubuntu and Google being a Linux commercial companies are the most advertised Linux distribution therefore people think that ubuntu and Google is Linux. It is Not Linux, Linux is a free Operating system that Ubuntu and Google use it to their advantage, these companies are trying to control their users just like Microsoft and Apple Mac do,
My advice to you would be use a Community distribution, they work out of the box, everything is set up for you ready to go, The top Community Distributions are as follows
(1) Ultimate Edition 2.8
(2) Linux Mint 10.10 or Linux Mint Debian Edition 2011.1
(3) Sabayon 5.2
You can download these from here they put Ubuntu to shame, Go and download a Community Distribution and keep away from the commercial Linux distributions and If you have any Problems use the distributions user forums In plain english use the help files that will take you to the forums were you ask your question and you will get the right answers,
