I have 5 questions... plz ans all the questons.. every question is easy.. i need ur support..

first of all let me tell u my system config...
Lenovo Idea Centre k200.
160 GB hard disk(ive partioned as follows C-40GB,D-40GB,E-40GB,K-20GB,L-20GB).. 1GB RAM.. intel dual core E2140 @ 1.6Ghz .... 1MB L2 cache.. graphics - 184MB (inbuilt)
OS on C drive(40 gb)- windows 7 ultimate (32bit)
OS on L drive(20 GB)- Ubuntu 8.something (8.04 i guess) (ive forgot the username as well as password)..

Now here comes the list of problems...

1) Actually i switched over to win 7 few days back from win xp.. as soon as i came to win 7 i faced many problems such as graphic problem and audio prblm.. but i fixed it with the proper drivers.. now no issues on that... in win 7 @ right bottom ders a flag lyk thing which is the symbol of notification i think.. there it was showing 86 IMPORTANT updated remaining.. so i updated all the new versions SUCCESSFULLY!!... im very happy wid that... but today it is showing 1 imp update i.e it is telling me to download and install "service pack 1 for my win 7"..! as soon i saw dis msg i googled abt service pack 1 and gone thru many reviews.. but many people hav written that der is some PROBLEM wid dis win 7 sp1.. nw wat shall i do?? shall i download it nd install or liv lyk dis only??? experts plzz tel me..

2) After installing win 7 on my system, if i run any application i can c a notifier telling dat "Do u want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?".. dis is not a big deal.. its a usual thing in win 7.. but the problem is, it takes more than 3 seconds to see this notifier.. ill b seeing a black screen for that 3 seconds. it happens even after clicking "yes" button der to run dat application... why dis is happening?? hw can i avoid this problem??

3) In win 7 there is an additional feature called transparency.. it'll be working properly.. but sometimes if i run many applications, as i said earlier ill see a black screen for 3 seconds and this transparency goes off and it'll b opaque as seen in xp.. and as soon as i turn off all the application again ill see a black screen for 3 seconds but the transparency is back!!
transparency is switching on and off depending upon my usage.. i want dat transparency to be persisting ALL THE TIME.. hw can i achieve that??? and hw to get rid of that black screen(3+3=6sec of wastage)??!!

4)Is this a problem of my low graphics?(184MB)?? and ill purchase a new graphic card next month.. 512MB NVIDIA is enough for my requirement coz im not a good gamer.. i won't play big big games..
my question is, can i avoid the wastage of 6 sec (i.e black screen wastage) by this graphic card?? or will it increase as ive increased graphic memory(lyk 6 sec to 8-9 sec)..?

5) Now as i have forgot the password of ubuntu 8 i thought of installing a new version of ubuntu.. 11.04 is a new version but my frnd said that its not user friendly so get 10.10 ubuntu.. which shall i take?? Ububtu 10.04 or 10.10 or 11.04??????????? which is user friendly?? coz im new to this ubuntu.. i haven't used dis OS for 1 day also..

PLZZZ ANSWER """""""ALL""""" THE QUESTIONS AND CLEAR MY DOUBT.. IF THE ANSWER IS PERFECT ILL BE UR FAN ILL GIVE U 5 START(10 POINTS).. THIS IS MY HUMBLE REQUEST.. AND THANKS FOR READING MY QUESTIONS..

First of all let me say to you that you have a low configured system. Your system is the minimum requirement for windows 7 (you might have known this). So it is natural to face some problems using W7. Now I am answering your questions.

Answer 1: Yes. Windows SP1 has some BSOD (Black screen of death) problems. If you eagerly want to upgrade your service pack to version 1 you have to complete all the important updates (specially KB2533552 (4.0 MB). If you cant find it in windows, Google it). Then you can update your system to SP1. Now it will not create any problems.

Answer 2: These type of messages are called UAC messages. It is a security technology of both windows vista and windows 7. As I have said before that you have a very low configured PC 3 second waiting for each function is normal. You can avoid this problem. Click start. then in the search box type "UAC". then you will see "Change User Account Control Settings". Click it. A dialog box will come having a slider. Now set the slider with what you need.

Answer 3: This problem is unanswerable. Because you have not told the type of application you ran when the transparency went off. Yes, you can troubleshoot the problems of Aero transparency. Right click on your desktop , click personalize. now click "Troubleshoot problems with transparency and other aero effects". click "Apply repairs automatically". click next. click "Enable the desktop window manager". Click next. Complete!!

Answer 4: This problem is a partial problem of graphic card. Plugging in a card may improve your performance (But a slide).

Answer 5: If you are new to Ubuntu (or Linux Based systems) you could start learning Ubuntu 11.04. As you have said you have not used this OS even for one day, why you are trying to install Ubuntu? But if you are interested in Linux, my recommendation is to install Ubuntu 11.04 for a greater hardware support and more implementation of Linux kernel.

**I recommend you to update your hardwares for getting support of hardwares in the near future applications.

ALRIGHT 2 POINTS!!!

**edit**

just coz i love my smart girlfriend, i'll answer your questions.

1) You should always install the update, even if people are having problems with it the best guess is it's because THEY did something wrong.

2) you can't stop the notifier it's their to help you, but what you are having a problem with is your speed. I would say you need to clear the cache of your internet, uninstall all unusefull problems and then lay off the ****.

3) The same thing with the question above, it's your speed that's the problem not the computer. Lay off the ****.

4) There is no way to really tell how it will react, though the graphics card will make the picture better, it MAY help the black screen but it's not likely.

5) I would install the newest version of everything and try to figure it out, there's a reason there's a newer version, it's usually better. If you find it to be difficult downgrade one version.

0) Learn to type and speak properly...it makes you look more intelligent than you make yourself appear.

1) Install Windows 7 SP1...those are critical security and system updates. If anything, SP1 makes your system run better. Anyone who has problems doesn't know how to use their computer or configure it properly (even though it's super simple).

2) The application is being scanned as that notifier is popping up, which naturally has a delay to it. It's not a big deal or anything to get worried about...it happens even on the more powerful Windows 7 systems I work with at my university.

3) Some programs are not compatible with the new glass interface, so they will go into the basic display mode.

4) Getting a better graphics card won't solve your problems, so it'll just be a waste of money. Getting more RAM will help more than getting better graphics processors or normal processors.

5) Ubuntu 11 is just as user friendly as any previous version, if not better in several regards to the user interface and software management program. Being a *NIX user myself I prefer Red Hat Linux, Solaris or 4.3BSD-derived operating systems. But Ubuntu is easy to use and everything...just like every previous version of Ubuntu or its derivatives.

It seems like you are new to Windows7!

If the reviews of service pack 1 are bad then don't download it.

But the system config. of the reviewers' pc may be affecting the performance of update.

It might be working properly!

All that flickering is happening because yr RAM & Speed is low.

Ram should be minimum of 2 GB.

Speed should be atleast 3GHz.

FOR WINDOWS 7.

Your graphics card is more than enough-- u r using Dual Core - even 64 MB of graphics card is enough If you are not Installing high requirement Games which needs graphics Card.

Linux is useless for common person, No need to Install it.

1- i did'nt got any problem with windows service pack 1 and in right bottom area will always have notification if Microsoft 7 any update is lunched the update is not necessary u can avoid update from control panel change settings disable updates if u dont want to get notify ...

2-this is not a problem this is just security issue of windows 7 its not happen with every software...in some cases when windows got any suspicious file then its happen..

3-is u have transparency(windows aero) related issue better update ur graphic card choose any windows 7 supported card it will solve ur problem...

4-it will increase ur graphic speed not cpu speed ...and if graphic card is gud u will reduced black screen seconds but it will not reduced boot screen time...

5- i use Ubuntu 10.10 its much user friendly,,,

sorry for my bad english...
