Best is to have atleast 3 mbps downloading internet. I have a 15 mbps and I am able to watch everything in HD on my TV. I also happen to have 5 other computers running off this same internet connection.

4gbps should do fine. However if you only have something like 256 or 512 kbps then you can install Firefox added with the Realplayer web-recorder plugin. Just open the video online and you'll get an option to download the entire movie to your pc. Not only you get the movie but also saved from the lag experience as you can watch it any time later.

10 mbps will be painful if your computer isn't good enough, get 100 mbps, very fast, wireless n is better at 1,000 mbps, but it isn't cheap in the slightest. Don't get me wrong, 10 will do very well, but if your machine isn't powerful enough you are still screwed. 100 mbps can make video look nice on a dinosaur, and 1,000 mbps is like the holy grail of video watching internet connections, the oldest computer armed with a hi-def screen will look like a custom gaming rig at that speed.

Any video that you receive will not come through Internet Explorer, it is usually is transfered to Window Media Player.

I think that 1-2 Mb per second should do it. I sometimes do it (But it has problems) with 728 Ks
