How can I install Firefox 2 on Ubuntu Linux 6.06?

I installed Ubuntu Linux on my machine over the weekend and I seem to be stuck with Firefox 1.5 and no way to upgrade. I downloaded the new version but its just in a folder. What can I do with this?

If this sounds like a newbie question that's because I am new. I have absolutely no idea of how to get this going, and Mozilla's release notes are essentially useless for me since I don't know enough to get by.

Any help, websites, positive energy, etc would be appreciated!

You should get it in Automatic Updates. If you don't go to System > Administration > Update Manager.

I just did that with Kubuntu, not Ubuntu, but they are very similar. Kubuntu uses KDE, while I believe Ubuntu uses gnome desktop. Kubuntu has 2 seperate "Add/Remove" programs. One is just add/remove programs, but the larger one, often used by system administrators and systems professionals, is called "Adept", and I think it is located in System. The really great part of Kubuntu, is that the operating system automatically finds the website with the most recent software on it for you and downloads it. It is way easier than the Windows method. If this is no help to you, then try these:
