Question about Codex? I cant play videos on my laptop?!?

I tried in the media player and the dvd player thing that was installed. (windows vista home basic)
What exactly and where should i download the r elevant software from?
Can one download the software to upgrade to vista office?

It sounds like your media player hasnt got the right codecs to play your videos.

Download and install the vista codec pack and i bet you'll be able to play your videos on media player.

vista office? must mean vista bussiness. not much point though but u can buy upgrade software but only for vista home premium. cant upgrade vista basic.

With ur code problem all you have to do is download divx codec. just goto divx.com and download the free http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/codec/

alternatively, you may use GOM player or Mplayer ( install sm player as well when you install mpui/mplayer package - sm player is in fact better than mpui, but GOM player is the best ).
