I am running Cubase (audio recording program) on my computer and my tracks keep recording with a scratchy noise on them. I am starting to wonder if my computer is fast enough to process the audio. Does anyone know? My computer is running Windows 7 and has 640GB hard drive, 4GB DDR3 Memory, and AMD Phenom II X3 N830 hard drive (i think). Does anyone know if this is fast enough?

Yes, it's fast enough. When you're recording you need a better sound card than anything else, which may be the cause of the scratchy noise. Cubase is notorious for not recording cleanly if your sound card isn't able to handle the sampling frequency you're recording at and the number of concurrent tracks you're recording.

It could also be your pre amps. What are you using for input? Get a sound card and check out the presonus firebox, if they still sell it, or a firepod if you want to record drums. Not sure if that brand is still good, but there should be a massive amount of FireWire preamps out there.

it rather is my own opinion. Macs suck. living house windows might properly be utilized for plenty greater, plus you will get respectable video/sound enhancing application on them too. they definitely tend to be greater low-priced, through fact Apple has became right into a novelty employer the place people purchase them just to tutor different individuals they have the money to take action. i'm unsure how sturdy Lenovo is, yet I checked the internet website this morning, and you seem to get a super decrease fee for being a student. i'm presently employing a Dell variety e6420 and it runs relatively properly, plus Skyrim on minimum settings at around 25-30 fps. you besides mght have the alternative of changing the DVDpersistent with one greater battery, boosting the battery existence to 10 hours plus. additionally, laptops that are actually not Apple are greater definitely repaired and upgraded, through fact Apple would not like people messing with their stuff. desire that helped :)
