Let me make it simple. I have movies files. I would like to burn these movie files onto a disk so that I can watch them on my dvd player, in the comfort of my living room.

I really have no idea when this became rocket science, but I've been searching all morning for a free program that will convert movie files and burn them to a dvd and I can't find one. Every search (including this site) has come up with broken english descriptions of crap I'm supposed to pay $80 to use or free software with dead links.

I do have nero 7, but it runs through the full length of the movie in real time when it's burning it and I really don't want to wait 2 hours a piece,

Can anyone just tell me in plain english what programs I should be looking for?

best burner/creator I’ve used so far is imtoo DVD creator. Mad happy I got this, I haven’t had any problems with it since last year! Updates automatically, burns superb quality media on DVD. I highly recommend this, wont regret it. =)

Nero 7 is an excellent program. To convert a video into DVD format does take time, and the average is the length of the video for the process to complete. The other alternative is to buy a Divx compatible DVD player which will play avi videos, in which case you'd be able to burn "data DVD's" using Nero Express, without having to go through the transcoding in Nero Vision.

I've been using DvdFlick for the past 3 years! It can burn a DVD in less than 1 1/2 hours.

i exploit Nero Burning ROM. that's the very only right. you will discover the previous version on the industry on EBay for sort of $30 (US). It no longer in basic terms burns video DVDs notwithstanding it is going to decompress a DIVX right into a DVD so which you will watch it on your television.
