I have a rather new laptop, and I was wondering if it would be easy to upgrade to windows 7 from windows vista?

Also, would windows 7 run smoothly on my laptop?
I have a 2.0 ghz intel core 2 duo processor and 4gb ram.

Would 7 work ok with my computer?
Would it be hard to install windows 7 (I have never installed an operating system before)?

Thanks

You'll be able to do it no problem, and unless you select clean install, you will not lose your files. Just select upgrade, which will keep your existing files and upgrade to Win 7.

Your specs are close to mine and I upgraded without any issue. I've been using it since the RC came out here and at work.

The only thing to keep in mind is it will take a few hours (my took about 4) with the RC. Current the migration process takes a while for all of the Vista configuration object.

Installing w/o an upgrade takes about 1 hour.

I had issues with the upgrade. It worked, but it wasn't clean and I had problems. I then did a fresh install and it then worked seamlessly. Try the upgrade first, but bear in mind a fresh install might be necessary.

Your system specs will run it just fine.

yes it should run fine. At 4 gigs of ram i would suggest windows 7 64 bit. I'm using it now and its fantastic.

It wouldnt be hard. from vista you can run an upgrade and it should not take long at all.

I think you will not have a problem. When you purchase Windows 7, you will get a disc. You will place the disc in the drive and follow the directions. See the site below.

It would work fine. Even better than it does with Vista probably. Yes it is easy to install, not hard at all! It would work AMAZINGLY!
