I've always preferred KDE because it gives me more options and control. KDE4 looks really good as well. But I like playing around with window managers - I have KDE, Gnome and X installed and choose which one I want when I log in. I like to switch them around.

Hi, I agree with a point Astro made here, u r asking for simplicity or feature rich. KDE has more features and with the release of KDE 4, I bet KDE will be the most popular desktop environment for Unix. You can use OS X widgets and u have built in 3d effects, compare that to gnome and gnome looks lame even though I like to use both.

KDE is more customizable compared to gnome, but if u want simplicity then gnome is better. Some people say KDE looks like windows only because it has one panel by default. Who cares just add another panel.

KDE is becoming more organized and polished in my opinion thanks to KDE 4, and also because it will work better with Apple's Mac OS X and thats a HUGE advantage to them.

Who says KDE has bugs? That depends on which distro u use, if u use some crap like Kubuntu then u r better off using Windows 98 rather than Kubuntu.

If u want to use KDE then use Mandriva, openSUSE, PCLinuxOS, Arch, etc. These distros know how to do KDE right. The Ubuntu developers couldn't give a crap about Kubuntu.

Ultimately the decision is yours.

Good Luck!

Eh I prefer GNOME. It's much easier to work with in my opinion

Maybe if I took the time to learn KDE, I might like it.

Gnome. Gnome is more functional and easy to use.

KDE - I don't like RHEL.
