I'm in computer class as we speak, and I had a problem with Microsoft Excel and she just told me to Google it... except I don't know what to google! Here's the problem- I'm using font size 11, and the text I'm typing can't stay in it's own box, and it overlaps to the next one. Please help me, this assignment should be done really soon, and my teacher won't help me.

Thank you so much in advance!

Here's three ways, depending what you want the sheet to look like:

1) shrink the text

Right click | Format cells | Font | Size

2) wrap the text

Right click | Format cells | Alignment | Wrap text (this will make the box deeper)

3) widen the column

Cursor to the right hand side of the column in the header (A, B, C,,,), and drag the border as much as you want, or while the cursor is a bar with a double arrow through it, double click to auto-adjust.

Not knowing how your finished project is supposed to look, here are some possibilities for you.

1) Click between the letters of the columns were your text is and widen the column that has your text until the text doesn't overlap the column beside it.

2) Click on the cell or any other cell in the column that has the text that overlaps and click on the Home Tab, Format, Auto Fit Column Width. This will size the column to the width of the widest item in the column

3) Click in the cell that has the text, right click, choose Format Cells, click on the Alignment tab then select Wrap Text and click OK.

Right click the cell - select Format Cells, Alignment tab, then click the Wrap Text checkbox
