hi,
i OPENED a word doc from an email. then i wanted to save it but i closed it and it asked if i would like to save my changes and i put yes. Where does it save? because i cant find it...please some1 help me

I'm afraid all your work is gone.



Opening a file and editing this way creates a temporary file for Word to use, then immediately deletes the file after Word is finished running. ALWAYS save an email attachment, then run the application on the saved document.

If you still have the file in your email, use save as and put in your desktop. Then right click on it open it up with Word.

it will save it to a temporary directory usually. I would re-open the document, and do a 'Save As...' then specify the location.



The temporary directory is usually something like C:\Documents and Settings\

If you opened it from IE, it is more likely in the C:\windows\temprorary internet files folder. You can use this software to try to find it as well: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/ie_cache_viewer.html
