Unfortunately Works is pretty basic and you cannot use right button of mouse in tables to get to options like merge. In fact, even if you click on the Table menu when working in tables, I'm afraid you do not have this option Working in tables is great, so much more flexible as you can have mixed alignments on the same line, can insert images without unwrapping etc so I suggest if you don't want to pay for the best - Office, you download OpenOffice for free which isn't too bad and is more flexible than Works.

I believe it is the same as Word. You highlight the two cells in the table you want to merge, right mouse click and click on merge.

**Update**

It is possible that this word processor does not offer this option.

Well you could merge one more but recording it as a macro as you do it so you need only run the macro. But if you highlight the two cells and then merge, usually you lose some data, so am intrigued as to how you are doing it. The best way though, if you are using this spreadsheet as a database would be to keep the names in separate cells but perhaps to use a concatenate function so they print out as if in one cell. So if you have first name in A1, second name in B1 the function would be =CONCATENATE(A1, " ", B1). The quotes are imperative because as you probably know that will give you the space between the two cells. So you could do this function in the first row in another column, autofill it down and then if you wanted, hide the first two columns with the names separately.

1...In excel highlight the cells you want to merge

2...Right click on a cell then click on "Format Cells"

3...Then click on "Alignment"

4...Now click on "Merge Cells"

Hope this helps you
