If the file is protected against opening, you are pretty much done. The password protection for opening files is pretty strong, and difficult to crack. This is very unlike the password protection for modifying files that are open (like sheet protection), which is quite weak, and easy to break. I suggest you do a search on "Excel password cracking". There are services that will do this for a fee, but don't pay any money unless they guarantee results.
