It's not just one file that takes long to load, but instead excel its self take a long time to load

May be you got a big file placed at the startup folder to run every time you run Excel.
If you have WinXP:
1- Close Excel
2- Go to
C: > Documents and Settings > XXXX > Application Data > Microsoft > Excel > XLSTART
Where XXXX is YourUserName and delete all files there (Or move them to another folder).
3- Go to
C: > Documents and Settings > XXXX > Application Data > Microsoft > Excel
and delete Excel.xlt file (Or move it to another folder).
And try Open Excel again, If this didn't work, You need to reformat your computer.

how old is the machine, has it been reformatted recently, and when was excel installed, if everything is on a new install perhaps u should reinstall to a different directory or a different partion of ur hardrive, if ur whole computer is bogged down after a reformat, make sure ur drivers are up to date. is only excel having this problem, these are questions u ahve to ask before u can begin trouble shooting,i hope i have been helpful, send me an email if u fix it or just if u want to say hi or thanks. =D

Either your computer doesn't match the minimum system recommendation or it was a bad install. In this case please reinstall.
