Here is a tutorial for installing xorg and kde:

I prefer XFCE4

Arch provides some of the clearest documentation of any Linux distro.

Their wiki and user guides are invaluable for running an Arch based system.

A list of various graphical desktop environments available for Arch: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Desktop_environment#Desktop_environments

Install X

Install a desktop enviroment

Install a display manager

Configure to start the display manager at boot.

The arch wiki has all sort of documentation to get you moving in the right direction.

yeah ... i don't get why you bought an Arch cd ..... where did you buy it from ?

also Arch is very difficult but ... if you read the arch wiki you just might be able to get a gui

anyway

i after much thought.... i .... recommend you.... oh this is a tough one um.......Ubuntu

yep even with the new Unity interface haha -- i used to HATE Unity but now i like it

so please if you are new then start with Ubuntu or Linux Mint - i just like Unity haha

Linux mint doesn't have Unity so... yeah

Like the others I can't understand why you bought a copy when it's free to download, http://distrowatch.com/?newsid=07530

Mint is one of the easiest and everything 'works out of the box'. Like most other Linux distros it is also free.
