Actually, I finally found out how from Softonic. It's very simple and it's hard to believe that this answer is not easily accessible on the Internet:

In order to remove (uninstall) the "Softonic Toolbar" from your "Internet Explorer" follow these steps.

First make sure you have the "Menu bar" in your "Internet Explorer" activated. If it is not active, right-click somewhere on the grey area on the "Internet Explorer" window and make sure the "Menu Bar" option is checked.

When the "Menu Bar" is visible, click on "Tools" at the far right, then click on "Manage Add-ons". Click on 'Enable or Disable Add-Ons'. In the list of "Add-ons" select "Softonic English Toolbar". Look below and click on the 'Disable' button. You may need to restart your computer for it to take effect.

You have disabled softonic toolbar from manage add ons in internet explorer, but not totally removed from your computer.

Better course will be to go to add remove programmes & remove it from there.

In case toolbar is not in add remove programmes,

If it was part of a downloaded programme, identify that programme & remove through add remove programmes.

If need be, reinstall the programme without toolbar(normally option is availlable in set up files).

Also when you click on tools, manage addons,

Right click on softonic related entries,

click more information,

identify browser add on files,

Go to start, search,

type the identified dll files

press search,

Right click on displayed files & click delete.

Use ccleaner software to scan , clean & remove old entries.

from your registry.

Reboot your computer.

Alternatively, download Revo uninstaller& uninstall the toolbar.

& remove identified toolbar files.
