I need to rip the audio from a video?

Question

I need a program that will let me take just the audio from a video so I can put it to another video. I have a friend singing very badly and I'd like it to be the background for a slideshow.

alternatively, if you could recommend a free movie-making program that would let me do something equivalent... that would work too.

PS, I've already gone through the free trial of switch sound file converter.
