While I agree with the above post to some extent. In theory, it should be possible to do a native installation of Windows XP on one of the Intel Macs, http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/71002/wo/1o37Jif38fct2gKaF98ZMivKbT4/0.SLID?nclm=iMac&mco=DD2F223D which feature a dual core 1.83GHz Intel processor. While Apple does not officially support Windows XP on their Intel based computers, it should be possible to install it.

If you have a PowerPC based Mac (if you don't have a Mac I would get one of the Intel ones) but if you do, you can use an emulator called Virtual PC that runs within Mac OSX (the Mac operating system) and allows you to install Windows XP and use it just like a Windows desktop at a slightly slower speed due to the emulation and translation of the x86 instructions that has to be performed.

I do agree with the Linux distro, Yellow Dog, it's the only one I know of that is available for the PowerPC platform but, as I said above, if you have an Intel based Mac, it should be possible to install a x86 distro of Linux on it just as easily. But the Intel Mac would not work with PowerPC distros.

[update:] It has come to light that you CANNOT install Windows XP on the new Intel Macs, read the following for more information, http://www.betanews.com/article/XP_Wont_Run_on_Intel_MacBook_iMac/1137003330 and the same probably goes for x86 Linux as well.

Macintosh is the line of computers. The operating system on the Macs is OS X. The current version is 10.4.

For powerpc based macs you cannot install windows but you can install linux. The most popular version is Yellow Dog (http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/index.shtml/)

For intel based macs you can install windows or linux or a host of other operating systems in theory. Since they were just released on Jan. 10th and have not hit the home market yet there are still details missing.

But, then why install linux or windows on a Mac? OS X is a BSD based system. The BSDs are the most secure line of operating systems out there. So, it's more secure than windows (there is no debate about this). Most windows programs have a mac alternative. Since OS X is a BSD based system and is Unix like it will run all of those open source applications that Linux can run natively.

According to operting system reviewers the Mac OS X is the best operating system on the market. The Apple stores will let you try them out and they even have classes for people looking to switch to help you with that.

Windows, no. Linux, yes.

Apple's operating system is usually referred to as Mac OS, or by its major version number, e.g. OS X.

If you have a PPC Mac, the most popular Linux distribution is Yellow Dog - http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/index.shtml/

you likely could receive the mp3 files from a separate internet web site then move them into your iTunes. i'd recommend making use of the Youtube Downloader (merely google it). merely seek for what song you wish in youtube, replica the url into the downloader, then move it right into a mp3 report. Then positioned it into your iTunes. It appears like an excellent form of labor, yet I by no ability were given any viruses or complications from it.
