I have tried to install Internet Explorer 9 and 10 both from windows automatic update and from a download from the microsoft web site But my computer still has internet explorer 8 installed.
After the installation finishes I restart my computer and when it reboots I opened internet explorer.it displays the page that usually open on a fresh install for internet Explorer 10 but when checking to see what version I have installed i see internet Explorer 8 which comes bundle with windows 7 .
Is there anyone that can tell me what I am doing wrong or how I can get a good installation of IE 10.
Thank you
Earl

This sounds like you are using Windows XP as an operating system.

Operating System

Windows Vista 32-bit with Service Pack 2 (SP2) or higher

Windows Vista 64-bit with Service Pack 2 (SP2) or higher

Windows 7 32-bit or higher

Windows 7 64-bit or higher

Good installation of IE 10 is an oxymoron. If you want a good browser, don't use internet explorer.
