Hiya.

Wondering if anyone out there knows of a trusted program where you can make certificates (award certificates) that can be sent to people in pdf file.
I know of one called Smartdraw VP but it's so expensive and I don't know how to make them myself I'd be here forever. I need them for students but can't find anything other than smartdraw. The certificates need to be sent by email

Any of you know a trusted program that's not so expensive??

Thanks! appreciate any suggestions

Download pdf995 from http://www.pdf995.com/download.html

Make sure that you download and install both the printer driver and the free converter.. The basic version if free.

When it is installed and with your certificate open just select Print and then in the dropdown box, select pdf995 as your 'printer' then save to a folder where you can find it. Very easy to use.

Construct your certificate using MS PowerPoint. You can find a selection of templates online.

Well, if you have some other software to design the certificates in (MS Word, Powerpoint, OpenOffice (Free!), etc) you can make it in whatever program you want...then install a program like DoPDF, or NitroPDF...use the PDF programs I just mentioned as a printer...so when you select Print, you choose your printer, for example you'll print from the 'printer' DoPDF...but instead of printing out on paper, it just converts your document into PDF format....hope this helps.

A certificate is just a document with a border.

If you have MS Office, use Word or Publisher to create the certificate and then save them as PDFs. If you don't have MS Office, any word processor with graphics capability will work.

And then just save it as a PDF file.

BTW, if you didn't know, you don't create anything in PDF format. There are PDF editors, but that's a really bad way to do it because it creates really large files.

Use whatever program you want to create your documents, and any kind of document or image can be saved as a PDF.

You need two separate programs. The first is to make the certificate - any program you use to print one, whatever you have now.

The second is actually a printer driver. The driver is installed in addition to what you have now (like HP or Canon). CutePDF and PDF995 are two such free drivers.
