I recently bought a new Toshiba Satellite A505-S9509. The system has a Intel core 2 duo, 4 G RAM, 500 GB HD, 64 bit Vista home .premium pre-installed. I can run 64 bit Internet explorer without problem. But 32 bit IE crashed and almost all other programs crashes when launched except MS Word 2003. The message was :the program is not responding". Even MSN live, IM crash. I tried to install XP as 2nd OS but got an error message when starting the CD. It doesn't look like I have any option but to format the HD and install XP. Is this common problem? Any suggestions?

It is a bad install. You should have no problem running 32 bit programs. I also have a 64 bit dual processor (AMD) and have no problems with either 32 bit or 64 bit programs. Contact Toshiba asap

Ouch... next time make sure the programs are use are compatible with a 64 bit operating system. Most applications default to 32 bit, but 64 bit parallels do exist.

If you can install XP (32 bit!), I suggest you do it.

A computer's registry is one big database that has numerous files, options, and settings. These settings and options keep changing with every second of you using your PC and can lead to the damage of some of these settings. This causes errors to show up and the computer to crash. Registry cleaners http://computer-e-book-money.com software scan the computer's errors and matches all files and settings with the applications that use them. If it identifies any file or setting to be damaged, missing, or corrupted, it provides you with an updated list of the same and also repairs these errors. Therefore, if your computer keeps crashing and need to fix blue screen of death a good registry cleaner is all you need. Your computer can also cause problems because of redundant files in its registry. Reg cleaners identify all these redundant and junk files that were left over during the uninstalling process of hardware of software and delete them. This makes sure that the "computer keeps crashing" issue is taken care of.
