Playing .avi video clips in powerpoint 2007?

i'm trying to do a presentation which incorporates a video clip thats avi extension. however it doesnt seem to play when inserted in pp only the sound plays. now i know it works as .wmv and .mpeg but converting loses quality. is there any way of playing avi in pp. im running vista btw

On your display settings, go to Settings --> Advanced --> Troubleshoot and pull the Hardware Acceleration down one notch at a time. Check if the movie runs, but also make sure your animations and transitions don't start getting chunky. You may be able to find a happy medium that works.



Make sure the name of the movie is a very short name and it isn't buried in too many levels of folders. When linked media file paths get too long, PowerPoint has a heart attack! Remember to reinsert the movie if you have moved and/or renamed it.
