I cannot get movies to work for me off of Isohunt. I only choose the ones that definitely work and have all the thumbs up and no thumbs down. I download them and then I go to play them and they don't work. My bf says I need a player or something. I have windows media player and itunes. Is that what he is talking about or a special isohunt player? I can download music from there just fine. Any suggestions? Thanks! <><

The files you download from isohunt are .torrent files that a torrent program uses to download the movie files. You need a torrent program (and a good anti-virus program, luck and crossed fingers - MANY torrent downloads are full of viruses. It's not a matter of "if" - if you download torrents, you WILL damage, or even destroy, your computer. A lot of the questions here are of the "now that my computer doesn't work, and they sais it will cost $XXX to fix it, what do I do?" sort.)

If you're downloading the actual movie files (they'll be rar files usually, you have to extract the movie file from that - use 7-zip), and they still don't play, use VLC - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ - it plays anything.

The files probably have a avi extension mean they would look like this

"movie.avi".If they do all you need is the codec for it.Maybe you can use divx plugin to make it work.

Google "k-lite codec pack". Download it..it contains most codecs you'll come across.

google vlc player, download, then install it, then run the movies in that
