1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) is NOT VC++. It is a package that gets installed (if needed) on computers that run programs made with Visual Studio.

#2. Microsoft is probably the safest site out there to download from.

#3. If you are wanting to write programs in VC++ and you want the free program then go here http://www.microsoft.com/express and download Visual C++ 2010 Express Edition

If you downloaded windows movie maker from the microsoft website it should have been fine... as with anything else you download from a trusted site...

why download VS 2010 when you can get the VS 2012 beta for free (trial)

http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/11/en-us/downloads

hit install ultimate RC

If you download software from the original source, there is little chance of infection.

If you got infected from windows movie maker, it wasnt downloaded from the microsoft site, or it wasnt the cause of your infection, and the timing was coincidence .

I use MS visual C++ and visual basic and c# from microsoft site, they are all safe.

On the grounds that it is a industrial application, the answer is "you can not." that's, now not legally. There are places where it may be found illegally and it's been my experience that such areas are also injection points for viruses. If you do not know about these websites chances are excellent you do not know learn how to maintain the protection risk either.
