When I press spacebar, it erases the character to the right instead of creating a space. This causes me to type the whole sentence again, how can I undo this error? Help and Thanks!

There's a one-time fix and a permanent fix. For the one-time fix, press the Insert key once.

But if this happens every time you open a document, your Options are probably set to start in Overtype mode. Here's how you can fix that permanently:

1. Click on the Tools->Options menu item.

2. Click on the Edit page.

3. Under Editing Options, make sure the Overtype Mode checkbox is clear.

4. Click OK.

That should do it.

Open Word, and press the Insert key on your keyboard once. This will toggle between insert mode and overwrite mode. You are in overwrite mode now.
