Okay, so, MS Office was acting like a pain and I had to uninstall it, only to reinstall it after doing so. However, when I tried to reinstall it, the application kept showing an error message like, can't create the folder C:\Windows\Installer\so-and-so-file-name because it already exists, and asks me to rename the existing file and retry thereafter. Now, when I search for the folder, I can't obviously find it. I am guessing that it is a very securely hidden file. Is there anyway I can access it and solve my problem?

Possibly... If you type C:\Windows\Installer\ in a windows explorer address bar, or the search bar in Vista's start menu, or in the run box (windows_key+r).. it should take you to the folder, hidden or not.. if you don't have security privileges to enter the folder, you'll get an error message though, but even if you can view it, you may not have privileges to rename it... which is a bigger elephant to eat... it may involve adding yourself to the security stuff for the folder, or possibly even taking ownership of the folder..

If you can update with results of trying to get to the folder, again, i can update with a course of action..

You didn't remove the directory or folders for MS Office in the programs directory. What happens is these folders will get configuration files and data files in them. Uninstall can only remove files it installs and not files created after that. These files tend to interfere with reinstalling the software again. It doesn't matter what program you install, there are folders left behind that need to be removed.

These viruses can also be hard to clear up. Keyloggers and trojans do not simply have an "unistall" choice, keyloggers and trojans are designed to get right into a pc and scouse borrow private knowledge... bank card #'s... and so forth. Do you've an antivirus reminiscent of Norton Security? Run your protection application and notice if that fixes the trouble. If the trouble nonetheless persists, do that. • Get Norton Ghost or down load knowledge you have got to a flash force • When commencing your pc press & keep F11 • Then cross all the way down to "Restore Factory Default" >>> This restores your pc to state-of-the-art... so revel in your new pc and I endorse utilizing Norton 360, as it's through a ways the excellent antivirus and protection application in the marketplace <<<
