.Mpg file editing help please!!!?

Question

i am starting to convert .avi to .mpg (mpeg) and the file is kind of glitchy, also the sound isn't too great. it asks me under the video section --size = blank X blank --- then it says frame rate then ------ aspect ratio for the first part... Then for audio my choices says ----Sample frequency ------ audio bitrate ---- then chanel (stereo or Mono) but ill leave that one on stereo if anyone could help me figure out what to set all these things to itd be awesome i just want it to be somewhat nicer than looking like its glitching and making the sound crappy

If you want the same quality as the original .avi file, then set them to the settings of the original .avi file. If you want slightly less quality to save space, then set if a little bit lower.



You can set the settings higher than the original file, but it won't improve the video quality to any more than the original file.
