I am currently in the process of wiping and re-installing windows 8.1 on a laptop for a customer of mine and need help on re-locating the office 2013 software. Since office 2013 originally came on the laptop when it was sold to the customer, I am trying to find a way to re-install it after I wipe the system and re-install windows. I have already logged into the customers Microsoft account to see if there was a way to download it there but was not; and have also tried numerous product key finders to see if I may be a able to find and write the key down to be able to re-install it later. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Here you go, right from the mouth of a Microsoft Rep:

If this is your business, you should have known to back up your Microsoft Office or save the product key. Because if they threw out that card (in which case they are foolish too) you are going to have one P.O customer

I picked up a key for Windows 7 through this company key2buy . I had a problem with the first one, but I got a very prompt response, and it was sorted in no time. I'd honestly given up hope, and had resigned myself to having to go with Windows 8.1, which is just not my cup of tea. The person responding to my emails, - Sara, I believe - was patient with me, and sorted my problem out within the space of a few hours.

I will most definitely be recommending this site to friends and family, and using them again for any other purchases I need to make along these lines. Great stuff!

also. . . in addition to what Troy has said. . . D/L a program called KeyFinder.Zip IF the product key is on that computer somewhere, Keyfinder will find it. !!

If the customer bought the software with his laptop, then the laptop manufacturer is the one with the software. They would have sent him some installing information for the software. If the customer doesn't have it, doesn't understand what you're asking, etc, just call his laptop manufacturer for help on how to get it back.
