I am thinking of switching to Ubuntu from Windows, but I use my laptop for taking notes in class. Are there any useful linux programs that I could use instead? I'd like to switch, but this is a deal breaker. It is a pain to try to take notes when there aren't simple autoformats, like bullets and numbering. Also, word processors are a ***** to save and keep organized. Once again, I'm looking for something along the lines of OneNote, specifically for notetaking.

basket, tomboy and FreeMind.

I like freemind because it runs on Linux as well as windoze.

Each of them have their strengths and weaknesses. All 3 are well worth investigation.

Being sturdy with pcs and being waiting to software are finished different. even in the journey that they'd often times pass hand in hand, programming calls for a noticeably severe aspect of logical competence. i ought to assert that in case you've been sturdy at doing be conscious complications in math classification then you really should be okay to code. you do not choose C to do Java. Programming is oftentimes very similar in the approach languages, with in common words the syntax replacing (a minimum of from my journey). although the way you imagine and they way you address courses is continuously a similar. some human beings %. it up very straight away and some human beings not in any respect get the hang of it. it really is same to how some each body is definitely innovative and some are not. Programming is my artwork ^_^ i'm in a laptop programming software and that i love it. Java is an excellent component to study so have exciting. in case you want to start up getting commonly used, i recommend you got Eclipse and start up making your human being common courses. in case you want some help on destiny complications or the different guidance, sense free to digital mail as i'm continuously satisfied to help different budding programmers =)

LyX might be the answer for you. Its fast for the things you mention, either using the keyboard or touchpad.

It can then be quickly and easily formatted to make a great document, but I am probably prejudiced.

Just type lyx into a web browser.
