Limewire won't connect?

Question

Limewire has always connected instantly, but a few days ago i installed Sunbelt personal firewall on my computer and ever since then Limewire won't connect anymore. I think it's because my firewall is blocking it. How do i fix this?

You need to allow limewire to connect to the internet. You should be able to find that option in your firewalling software. Alternatively you could disable the firewall (it's a shame though).

i am not personally familiar with this firewall. i know it would be best if you open up your firewall GUI and try to figure out what setting your "firewall" is on. ie; medium, high, low, and youd want to change it to the lowest setting for firewall.

I don't know how to fix it but my sister had Limewire and after a while Limewire gives your computer a virus and it shuts it down totally, so i suggest you get FrostWire it is the same thing exept better and it doesn't give your computer a virus delete Limewire from your computer.

Uninstall Sunbelt and get the firewall from TrendMicro.

idk much about sunbelt but im pretty sure that its not letting and 3rd party connect to your computer which is its use, i would just shut the firewall off while your downloading things then turn it on when your not using limewire

Check the settings for the firewall there should be something there that allows certain web pages to load

The firewall is blocking it go to your firewall options and change the programs that are checked to block.

Unblock you firewall and it should definitely work. I think it's Control Panel> Windows Firewall and then turn off.

i have had same problem before,try uninstalling the fire wall program and use just a normal windows firwall or when you want to use limewire just disable firewall.then turn it back on when ur not using limwire. limew wire is a very good program very few problems! hope i helped

Acess your Fire Wall And go to Options or settings and try to diasble if lime wire connects you know its your fire wall than just try to get your fire wall on the DL so it lets you run programs but still protects your PC

go to start then control panel go to security center and find the setting in your firewall hope i helped =) or if that doesnt work go to control panel then go to programs and uninstall it

download frostwire, thats what i had to do!
