Good day, Guys.
Today I downloaded Ubuntu image ( .iso ) and i got a zip file ( .iso ). I've tried burn the zip file in the DVD-R and try to boot it with my computer. Yes, I already change the boot settings. But there's no the " press any key to boot.... " thingy. So I throw away the disc. Next i tried to extract the zip file and burn it in other disc. But, failed again. What should i do?

( Oh yea, my computer's Windows was jammed. So I can't install it without disc )

Thanks.

You cant just drag and drop the iso to a disk and burn it. You need to burn the iso as an image to make it bootable.

If that doesnt work get a usb stick and use 'unetbootin' to make a bootable USB drive assuming ur computers bios can boot to that if the disk option wont work.

Once again make sure you set your boot options to do the disk drive/usb/THEN hard drive if you want it to do that.

Thats the only thing I can think of why it didnt work.

Iso's are zip files, they are disc images.

You have to burn the image to a disc...*as an image*. If your burning software doesn't provide this option, it won't work. The disc has to be burned as an image in order to be bootable, and if it isn't bootable, it isn't installable.

Yeah, you can definitely do it with a disk. Just Google it. I installed it using a disk, so I know it works lol.
